With regards to a timeframe I'd be in favour of waiting for Kolendo (if he's keen to do it) as it was him that kicked the whole thing off. Apart from anything else it gives those of us who are bit slower at writing tracks (or are busy) more of a chance to get something ready.
Of course a long deadline (4-6 weeks say) would be cool too.

i don't normally get involved in the forum but when i do its cos something really intrigues me. ;) i'd be up for getting on the compilation. i reckon it would be best not to vet it as such, as good tunes are subject to following and taste, plus people get bitter over them sort of things.

Definitely down for this but I think the voting should be as unbiased as possible (no favoritism or politics) and focus strictly on the music (I'm know, I'm an idealist.. ). Maybe the top 12 tracks with the most votes gets on the compilation? Also, I think money and legalities/copyrights should be removed from the equation. Artists should remain 100% in control of their tracks after the compilation is released. That's just my 2 cents :)

A long deadline obviously necessary (one month?)

I think we passed the voting, and will proceed with 3 or 5 judges. Their personal taste would obviously shape the compilation, but i think that's still better than the "yo bruv vote for me cuz i wanna get released! yo." tingy. But if you think we should vote, let us know what's your reasoning

Keep the ideas coming! ;)

Wasn't sure how song selection would be narrowed down so the voting bit was just an idea but I think having 3-5 judges decide would work too.

On another note, who would handle artwork?

I would be happy to have a go :) However I can't really make something to requirements  stuff just happens, sometimes its good sometimes its not!

I am sure there are some much more talented people on the forum that can make good album artwork but if no one is up for it I can have a go!

Also, are we supposed to be starting tunes already!? Like has this started and the clock is ticking? cause I had better get a move on

What i think would be an ideal way is this:
- peeps submit their tunes
- The Man in Charge removes the artists names and shares the tunes with the judges
- judges vote
- The Man in Charge counts the votes and announces the "Winners": the best 10 - 12 tunes
- releasing the compilation
- ????
- PROFIT

Nope, this aint started yet (Kolendo will be back around September), but the clock is always ticking, and you can always start to write a tune ;)

The artwork is good question, lots of talented people here (including Kolendo and i am too extremely talented :geek: ) so we'll figure out something. Soon. I guess.

i hope by some magic i actually make a awesome tune in time for this :D

also the idea of artist/ track names not being shown is good idea, everything will be listened to with a clean slate, no preconceptions about any of the tunes :D

Y'all shud read the whole thread. :geek:
We will make the announcement after August (September probably).

Kolendo already drafted a set of rules, i asked him to clarify some things, so he's gonna write another version (and hopefully he'll read this thread and incorporate the ideas shared). In September.
Now is the time to share your suggestions!
But first you need to read the whole thread. ;)
