Top Garage Classics - GO GO GO!

Postby Kolendo » Mon Apr 02, 2012 4:13 pm

Don't know about the rest of you, but it was my love for classic/oldskool garage that primarily brought me in the future garage direction.
Lay down your top garage tunes (pre-future garage). Let's say only two songs per post, wait a couple posts before posting again!

Totally digging these two remixes lately.
First one is a classic remixed by Exeman (aka Wookie)
second is a really smooth rework by MJ Cole.

Fun fact: Wookie's remix of Brandy's "Angel In Disguise" may have influenced Submerse's track "Stay" which samples the same acapella.

Really diggin' that MJ Cole remix, haven't heard it before (odd, I love his work).
The Wookie one's alright, and yeah I knew I recognized that Submerse sample from some other track. :)

Gage: Yesss I love that tune, huge classic for sure.

Blnd: I was thinking about posting Cheque One-Two also, but YouTube doesn't have the 1998 version uploaded anywhere.
Only the 2000 re-release (the one you posted) which is actually very different.
They're both good though, I just prefer the original.

You know what, I've decided to upload my own copy of the original to YouTube, will post shortly.

Alright everyone, I uploaded it to YouTube.
This is the ORIGINAL version of Sunship's "Cheque One-Two".
Easily one of the coolest and grooviest garage tunes ever.

By the way guys, Sunship is releasing new music as of this year! :D

Surprised nobody has linked this one yet. I really would love to know who this Nosey Parker guy was, can't find any info on him whatsoever.
Fatboy Slim lifted the remix for his track "You're Not From Brighton" but that's all I could get out my searches =/

Still, brilliant work. Turns the original on its head!

Dezz Jones's remix of Conscious Collektiv's "Hurt".
A personal favourite for sure.
