Any label owners wanna release any of my stuff?

Postby davwuh » Sat Feb 18, 2012 3:53 pm

Hey, if you're reading this and you're an owner of a label - could you take a listen to one of my tunes and see what you think?

http://soundcloud.com/davwu/death-poem

I have around a hundred tunes of this quality and of various styles, from future garage, dubstep to post-dubstep - and I'm looking for a label to release some of it on. Instead of just sending demos which will end up in the trash I thought I'd post this, since I know labelheads are on here, including Whistla himself who obviously runs the place.

So I thought maybe I'd get lucky and post this up.. I'm currently selling stuff on Bandcamp and I've made a little bit of money that way, and I have a small fanbase.. I feel I could be a relatively succesful producer if given a push, but most people have not heard my stuff yet. If anyone is reading this, likes the tune and feels we could work something out then drop me a PM on here or message me on my Soundcloud.

*prepares to take flakking from forum before thread is trashed* - but it doesn't hurt to try

Have you ever considered there might be a reason your songs aren't taking notice or ending up in the trash?
It hardly seems as though you've put much effort into networking and trying to make more of a name for yourself.
You've been on Soundcloud for almost a year and still don't even have 100 followers.
Unless you're good friends with a label owner or well-known producer, there's honestly no quick and easy way to getting picked up by a label.
Stop whining about it when you haven't even tried very hard.

Well, the way I see it is that he wants to be on a label, right?
That means he wants people to hear his music more, right?
That translates into wanting and having followers of your music, whether it be youtube, facebook, soundcloud, whatever.
A large amount of labels out there DO give a shit about followers.
Just because you don't doesn't mean much.

Yea I feel I have some followers because I've sold a fair few albums already to give me a nice bit of pocket change, but I just don't use soundcloud much itself.. I guess my networking is pretty poor and I only speak to a few people in the scene really.. i guess this thread is me reaching out in a way

Easy,
I run a label, Good Street Records. Pretty small affair at the moment, just one release, an EP by myself. However, in 2012, I'm looking to sign people and hopefully end up pressing some vinyl. I'm just starting out at this so it would be a learning curve for me, but i'm really up for pushing some good music. Send me a message on here and I'll send you a link to my Soundcloud dropbox,
Cheers
